My saltfish buljol, Saltfish, bell peppers – red, green, and yellow, small glove garlic, black pepper, olive oil, oregano and basil (a sprig of thyme would have been good), and a hearty tomato… served with Mushroom rice (from a packet… ) Would have been nice with a red onion and a scallion or two.
My son introduced me to the delights of saltfish. Very salty, needs a good soak, but so good for so many dishes.
Here’s one that I came across recently, one which I will try tonight… well with a few variations.. (love onions, but they don’t like me!)
It’s been ages since I’ve been here. Nothing much to say suppose, and of course the great english weather has been nothing to write home about, in fact one word seems to sum up the past few months….. RAIN…
It’s so depressing, I rely on summer to get a bit of outdoor time, pottering and footling around in my garden. But I’ve had no chance to do that at all, and the bloody slugs have eaten everything, the slimey barstewards. They must be the hardiest slugs around, they get through just about everything, even the poisonous plants, digitalis, potato, tomato, i bet they’d even chomp through deadly nightshade if there was any.
Here’s a bit of wishful thinking…
