Nelson Piquet jr, Castle Combe 2004
I can’t make up my mind whether a FOTA split is a good thing or not. It might mean more racing, if FIA F1 also survives, which is likely methinks, as there were plenty of privateer teams interested.
I have a feeling though that there will be some compromise reached before the end of the business today, though there’s going to be sleepless nights ahead for several players, but maybe they don’t sleep anyway.
The new FIA F2 series looks interesting, Williams chassis and a 1.8 4 cylinder turbo charged engine, if my memory serves me right (can’t be guaranteed)
The photo is Nelson Piquet Jr. racing in an F3 race at Castle Combe 19/6/2004. I seem to remember he crashed out during race 1, a form he seems to have taken with him to F1. Race two was run under changeable conditions. No formula 3 at Castle Combe this year.
Since we’ve been regularly composting, for the last few years or so, and having a conveniently placed water butt, the garden has really shot into life. With a bit of macroscopia brought to life thanks to our modern digital gizmos, it”s possible to get right amongst the plants.
These Violas have been spectacular most of the season, I believe they were winter flowering varieties, but they’ve just kept on going….
Ack! hack! My neighbour has a bonfire, mostly a woody fire, but whoosh does it ‘aff stink … I was coughing and spluttering a good five minutes before I realised there was a fire. I had been listening to a program (news & current affairs) on the radio talking about swine flu… thought I might be psychosomatic afterall… nah just a bloomin’ bonfire… phew!! or pew!!
360 on WordPress!!! Waahhooo!!!
Yahoo have reported that they will be closing 360 down sometime in July… mid July I believe. They have their own ‘profile’ thing going, which can import the 360 blog, which is good, except my profile page crashed and I haven’t seen it since.
Thankfully I saw that the 360 backup also had an option to save to a file suitable for importing tovarious blogs and that includes a wordpress importer…
So Here’s a blogs life on the go again…
Pic is of a rare excursion to London to see the Oysterband, at the Forum in Kentish Town.
Support band was Edward II.
It’s warm here! At last temperatures above freezing. It was -9 the other night, Bristol Docks froze over!
I very rarely visit these pages anymore. I have lost the habit, mostly due to bugs with 360 making blogging very infuriating. Such a shame.
What ever happened to the replacement system yahoo were supposed to be working on. Not heard a sausage… do they even speak come to that…
I have Myspace and Facebook, which I don’t like that much, there’s no real blogging capabilities with them, 360 was far better. I’ve also started a WordPress blog for my experiences with HNPP, which is a bit too serious. It’s easy to create extra blogs with wordpress, so I might concentrate on them. I like wordpress!!
Here’s a list of my bloggy things, if you’re there too give me a boot…
facebook – What a pile of toss, so damned confusing!!
Myspace – leaf27
WordPress – bloomin’ good blogging software, mostly adfree
Well, I’ll pop back from time to time…
I posted this a while back, this time embedding has been enabled so here goes…
James O’Grady on the Uillean pipes… ah C’est magnifique!!
